CELLOWORLD COMPETITION

CELLOWORLD COMPETITION 2023

open to cellists around the world without age limit.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

JURY

Dr. Anzél Gerber will listen to all the recordings in full. The prizes for the winners will be determined in consultation with the Celloworld advisory board.

VIDEO MATERIAL

All cellists are required to submit video recording materials for the competition. The recording should be a fair representation of the contestants’ abilities but does not need to be of a professional quality. Candidates are requested to submit the video material via a downloadable electronic link or via YouTube.

REPERTOIRE

You may submit your own choice of cello repertoire. However, please enter your recording according to a repertoire category (sonata, concerto, solo cello, virtuoso piece, modern composition, etc.) and age category.
There will be various categories (and prizes for each of the categories). Although there is no time limit, you may not perform more than one completed work in a category. Should you wish to participate in more than one category, kindly submit each recording separately, with a separate, completed application form for each of the categories you are entering. (Kindly note that the application/administration fee needs to be paid for each category).

PIANO ACCOMPANIMENT

Works composed for cello and piano, should be performed with piano accompaniment. Should you wish to perform a concerto,  it should likewise be performed with piano (piano reduction of the orchestral part).
