MASTERCLASSES

Apart from presenting masterclasses at music institutions, it is a very special occasion to meet students from across the globe for summer courses, where students participate in concerts, masterclasses, optional competitions and have wonderful encounters with faculty and peers!

The courses where I am teaching are the Cremona International Music Academy, held in Cremona, Italy, as well as the Wiener Musikseminar in Vienna, Austria.

Cremona, world-renowned for its famous violinmakers, such as Amati, Stradivari, Guarneri etc. is filled with a rich history and tradition of string instruments. The special collections of string instruments can be seen and concerts experienced in the wonderful „Museo del Violino“.  Violinmakers can be visited and their wonderful newly hand-crafted instruments, can be tried out. As part of the Cremona International Summer Academy, students perform in chamber music ensembles and the orchestra. Students have the opportunity to perform in many concerts and may also participate in a competition! Apart from the wonderful music-related activities, experiencing Italy, Cremona with its special atmosphere and the wonderful people from many different countries, makes this an unforgettable experience. Vienna, the city of Music where famous composers such as Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert,  Brahms, Mahler and Bruckner lived and worked, is filled with wonderful museums and concert halls, where the rich culture can be experienced. The masterclasses offered by the Wiener Musikseminar, focus primarily on individual classes. Performance opportunities for students are offered in historical venues, such as the house in Rohrbach, where Joseph Haydn was born.

There is plenty of time between the masterclasses to explore Vienna. More information can be found on www.musikseminar.at
